Kulungwana – Association for Cultural Development, was officially created on 23 May 2006.
On 18th of April 2008, Kulungwana opened its Artistic Space ”Sala de Espera” (Waiting Room) at the Central Railway Station (CFM). The space is used to showcase art and organise cultural events and to promote national artists.
Kulungwana has organized solo and collective art exhibitions, including, painting, sculpture, ceramics and photography. The space has also hosted the launching of books and concerts. Mieke Oldenburg is member of the Board of Kulungwana.
